36 abandoned Golden Retrievers rescued from Turkey
you wouldn’t know it by looking but
these are some jet-lagged pups late
Saturday night these 36 golden
retrievers arrived at hartsfield-jackson
International Airport this is the
largest known rescue of golden
retrievers internationally ever an
American living in Istanbul Turkey
contacted adopted gold in Atlanta she
was seeing golden retrievers everywhere
living on the streets filling up
shelters ten years ago golden retrievers
were seen as the status symbol dog in
Turkey then a few years later everybody
had them and therefore the status was no
longer there and they started abandoning
them in the streets these dogs
known for their gentle temperament did
not fare well on Istanbul streets home
to 50,000 dogs they don’t make it
because the feral dogs will attack them
and they don’t fight back hello there
baby after all they’ve been through the
tails still wagging so we go even though
they don’t understand English commands
yet these guys are craving human
attention and human affection three
veterinary teams from the VCA Buckhead
Animal Hospital are triaging the new
patients it looks like we’re probably
going to be dealing with a lot of ear
infections and skin infections there are
twenty boys and sixteen girls from six
months to ten years old all legit world
travelers with photo ID passports a
couple we brought over that we’re living
the streets about 2 years of age they
look about eight for those who wonder
why a rescue would go this far for a few
dozen dogs there are 98 golden retriever
rescues in the country all of us have
waiting lists for dogs all of us and all
of these dogs are already named they are
the freedom dogs and all of them have
been give
and names that are very patriotic
starting with freedom Patriot Liberty
glory now all they need is a home
someone to call America in from the yard
