A Look At Some Of The Top Breeds At The 2019 Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show | TIME
I think Westminster’s dog show being the
second oldest sporting event in
countries very popular whoever wins it
is known as America’s dog for the next
year twenty-eight hundred dogs that were
entered which is a maximum number
approximately 2,600 over champions
already and they come from all 50 states
and we have like seven different
countries where they come from
so you really have that’s why they call
it American dog show because it’s the
most amount of Champions shown and
there’s a lot of big winners that have
competed all year to come to it to
Westminister and there’s a lot a lot of
top dogs here in various briefs

we expect to have 203 breeds of dogs
representative at the end of the day all
the best to breed go down and compete at
Madison Square Garden night for our four
respective groups Hound group toy group
non-sporting group and herding group we
have about 35 judges each one of them is
recognized by the American Kennel Club
in certain breeds they judge those dogs
to the standard and they pick in their
mind who the best representative is that
breed

the thing that makes an Old English
Sheepdog different is first of all the
coat and it has to have a certain
texture and it can’t be curly but it
can’t be straight either it’s got to be
kind of thinking they’re supposed to
have a big head
they have a big nose they are supposed
to be taller at the hip than they are in
the withers so you can see that he
slants upward going that direction and
that helps him travel easily long
distances this is a welsh springer
spaniel their country of origin is Wales
the breed standard says that they are a
rectangular dog that means that they
should have good confirmation to I’d be
able to reach and drive so reach in the

birds and chase rabbits so their form

hunter and they need to have good
conformation in order to do
