Aggressive Cane Corso in For Training. Dog Training – Behavior Modification.
Hey guys scott ridgeside k9 coming to you from the van so here we have jammo that's what he's been doing for the last 15 minutes so we'll see how this one goes when you go to pick the dog up and the dog bites the owner's dad.
Right in front of you pick this up a little bit so we're gonna go into a little bit of evaluation mode right now first we're gonna try a little grabber right we're gonna try to see if we can get that slip lead that's on him out with the grabber we could maybe do it maybe we can.
Then we're going to go into our old fake arm see how this goes i'd rather this get bitten than me so uh we're gonna give this a shot and let's see what we got with jamo all right guys as you can see right here this orange tab.
I got the slip lead out there are certain things that aaron always says are not made for video and i agree with him now that didn't go poorly i just went in there with that little grabber and hooked it out so now the decision comes do we go bite suit buy two pants scratch pants uh.
My good old raccoon catching gloves you know um jim uh jammo deems he seems to target like arm area so uh i'm not sure what i'm gonna do from here but these are the decisions we make as a dog trainer so let's see how this goes.
I don't know if i'm gonna be able to get this the van is buttoned up so like if he comes out and he wants to fight it's on right here but at least the door is shut so uh he's not going out the door but um i'm gonna make those decisions as we kind of take this a little bit more and more decision to glove up they come up.
To my elbow they're kind of nice if you take a little bit of a bite they give you some some protection the reason i don't like them is these fingers are so thick so it's hard to operate with these fingers being so thick but i think what i'm going to do is just i can see that slip leads on.
So i'm going to glove up i'm going to pop the door on the van and we're just going to keep walking and we should be good so we'll see how this goes there you have it went actually a lot easier than i thought it was going to um jamma was pretty cooperative once we got out.
And now the real work starts i kind of like these cases to be honest with you they're pretty challenging and i don't know if you can see this guy but he's a beautiful dog beautiful big old block head he's powerful man super powerful so now we start the process of kind of getting to know each other a.
Little bit and i'll sit here tonight probably for 30 minutes i'll leave for a little bit i'll come back for another 30 and we'll be well into the night so you know jammo decided to bite the owner's dad right in front of me right in the wrist he's actually headed to the hospital right now because he thinks.
He's fractured his wrist this old blockhead's got a lot of power behind him so the interesting thing is that went smoother than i thought but he's a dog you just never know and you can't trust yet um maybe never who knows we'll get there.
We'll see how it goes but uh he hits fast and hard and it's quick so we're going to keep working him through the paces he's going to get to know me i'm going to get to know him and it's going to be good so i'm going to document as much of this on video as i can um.
I think it's going to go well from from the way i kind of gauge tonight i think it's going to go well but we'll keep working on it ridge side canine what hey guys scott ridgeside k9 check it in day two jamo there he is we had a good day it was a busy day um we're back in the kennel late night.
Putting in some reps i really want to take you guys on this journey with us because there's no wow factor to it really we're not the only ones doing this there's other people out there doing this it's been done before i get it but i really want you guys to see what we go through what he goes through and how the end result comes out so.
Let's take a look at how we approach day two yep something of you with jamo right now we are in a final breaking stage for the night this is important a lot of people don't see this as important but look right here oh she's looking everything's happening.
He's attentive he's alert he used to be in the back corner of his kennel and when you went near me growled these are little things that you have to watch and see and see how a dog is evolving a little bit in their behavior so he's looking right now because he got a break tonight and he went out with me so he's like hey.
Let me out this is critical critical for this dog he needs to understand that i am the key to everything i am the key to fun food freedom and affection so he knows i'm the key to freedom right now so he's up and he's like hey i want to go out with the rest of these guys very very important in the process.
Um there's not going to be a ton of talking in this but i want to narrowing through what we're doing i'm going to keep a lot of my movements very static not dramatic in any way you can see jammo's still in a slip lead he's going to live in a slip lead.
For a couple of days he takes it off at night he knows how to get out of it i just put it on in the morning again so you saw the approach um still got a lot to him really really fear-based biter um he will hold the bite but he's definitely fear-based that's what that's.
What brings him you can see his front leg i don't know if you can see it under you can't really see in the camera it's kind of shaking a little bit so he's got some nerves to him um he's going to understand that i'm not here to hurt him so.
Day two is just this right here there's a little bit of low grumble there and that's why i didn't reward him if you notice he will give me eye contact he looks up i'll give him a treat now eventually i'll probably move to a clicker.
And kind of load a clicker right here with this um the reason i'm not right now is because i don't want to startle him so i'm trying to get that calm neutral behavior right now i'm getting him to the point where he knows i'm here he's there nobody's gonna hurt him so.
He looks up we make eye contact he gets a treat i'm not marking it in any way shape or form it's a lot of really non-verbal communication between him and i right now um and this is how it's gonna go for i don't know we'll see we'll see how.
Long it is i did get him out today and took him out for a break he did go to the bathroom which was great um but he does a circle move where he tries to come around and flank you a little bit.
He's just trying to gain that advantage in there and it can be a little scary because he's probably looking for something to target and if you don't position yourself properly he'll probably get you so we're going to keep doing this today through the night.
Into tomorrow and we'll get an update going we'll keep you posted on jmo i'm gonna do as much as i can video wise this is great this is what i want from him we're going to keep pushing this through we're going to see what tomorrow brings.
