Bakersfield Boxer Gives Birth to 14 puppies
a near record-breaking event over the
weekend is making the movie 101
dalmations almost impossible
23 ABC’s Lauren outlander joins us now
with Sasha’s story Lauren yeah good
evening Jackie the average sized litter
for boxer dogs is five to seven puppies
and the highest record set was 15
puppies but just the other day Sasha
from southeast Bakersfield nearly broke
this record check it out I wish I could
get the mo a couple months ago the
Fernandez family noticed there less than
one year old boxer sasha was pregnant
and this weekend it was time for her to
welcome her pups into the world my mom
called us and she told us that she was
on the dog house she wasn’t coming out
the family was looking forward to having
a few new additions throughout the night
there was another puppy and then there
was another puppy and there was another
puppy but they had no idea what they
were in for and then we find out in in
the morning we had 14 puppies it’s
amazing it’s wonderful it’s a they are
so vulnerable that they have my heart
Sasha almost set a world record for
boxer-brief I never seen so many puppies
I was surprised unfortunately one puppy
didn’t make it and another one is sick
but they are trying to nurse it back to
health
leaving 12 healthy and squirmy puppies
it’s a beautiful experience for how tiny
the puppies are they have quite the
appetite getting fed every two hours
some by Sasha and others by bottle their
eyes aren’t open yet but we were able to
count out eight girls and five boys this
is a girl the Fernandes family says
they’re exhausted but wouldn’t trade
this feeling for the world we wanted to
share with the community we never seen
something like this Sasha seems to be
cut recovering slowly but surely and the
Fernandes told family told me that once
the puppies were old enough they plan to
sell them but they’ll keep the last one
born for themselves in studio Lauren
