CIDBT 4014W Practical and Effective Dog Training
[Music]
good morning everybody welcome to
today’s practical and effective dog
training course we’ve got an
action-packed day ahead we’re going to
be spending some time in here in the
classroom and largely we’ll be outside
in the various paddocks working with the
dogs and teaching them lots of new
exercise
[Music]
yeah because then you’re marking you’re
telling her that you’re communicating
with it by telling her that’s what you
wanted so make sense yep okay when
you’re ready guys come over to your
cones pop the food in
[Music]
yay good girly give her the treat
straightaway well done this is gonna do
the note command with you and everybody
else so you could be with me for these
of that parent these are just the people
that don’t that the use of marker word
at the moment all of you oh no these
guys use marker words so we’re good
Byron Lemon can ask you to just move
here for me and then you guys follow her
round so that you’re in a bit of a right
angle that’s it that’s that the perfect
terror it might just be a little bit
easy on to distance distance work okay
so the way that I would train this I
would start off with the law with the
food so down okay do that a couple of
times down yes I can give my marker word
when I’ve got what I want my words yes I
can give her the command down yes and
then reward so what I’m doing now
instead of giving her the food from my
hand I’m starting to throw the food in
so that the food isn’t coming directly
from my fingers so I’m starting to
create a little bit of distance I’m
still lowering down yes
and I’m throwing the food in
that’s nice cool Wow
nice atactic ticket
[Music]
got attention to there anything else
anybody we’ve finished so we’re going to
swap in a minute but is there anything
anybody else wants to practice or review
that we did earlier on yes dice well
done that was lovely and one more go
that was so there’s a girl that distance
down I think it’s one like the second to
the recall is one of the most important
exercises to teach if you’ve got a dog
that’s going off heading somewhere it’s
far easier to get the dog to drop down
and maintain focus on what it was going
to do rather than to do kind of a
complete 180 and run back to you it can
go down and still continue to look at
the picnic or the whatever it was that
it was after
lovely
