Dog Training – Distance Sits In Action
so we just go up in him we check by the
color boy we give them a treat
go play step ones as simple as that I
want the dog to get used to your taking
him by the collar and I want the dog to
enjoy being grabbed by the collar so
sometimes I’ll come up really quickly
Rockefeller gotcha and I give him a
treat tell him go play now we move into
step two this time I go up to him I take
the collar do sit and when he sits he
gets the treat good boy

you
now we move to step three but I want him
to sit before I catch him
good job and take his collar just to
show that I could so he does I know he
doesn’t duck his head and run away give
him the treat tell him good way
see how he’s looking at me now is
expecting this that it’s cool he knows
that me grabbing him by the color does
not signal the end of the war we gave
one more time dude sit good boy
then we take his collar to give him the
treat now he’s ready for the final stage
so I asked him sit very nicely if he
doesn’t do it we just get a little bit
of urgency and we are insistent that he

has to sit following just one
instruction if I have to repeat it from
a distance when I get up close to him
then he has to repeat it
