Dog Training in minuits not hours
all right so we’re going to talk about training on dogs I get people constantly tells me that they spend hours at a time training our dog from what I see with the dog train if you spent minutes at a time you would get more out of it at the end of the day than you do that’s been in an hour if I’m working with a dog normally when I go out to work a dog I have one thing in mind that I want to try to perfect didn’t have other things that I introduced a dog to so the things I’m perfecting once I get to where I feel I’m in a really good spot with a dog I’ll quit sometimes it’s two minutes sometimes it’s ten minutes and sometimes it’s thirty seconds if I get that exact spot I just quit and I’ll leave to put my dog up or a lot of times on this time on a dog to sit or lay and I’ll just hang out with it for a while not really think about what it’s been taught before I put it back up but then for me I can always go get my dog out a couple hours later and work with it some more and then work with some more on training and try to keep moving forward with what I’ve been teaching it and the biggest thing for me is we do cow dog clinics a lot and we just finished up the twelfth day on clinics we’ve done for three day clinics and it’s amazing to see the amount of time that a person puts into a dog in a clinic like we have we had I think eight dogs in her first clinic and they were actually seven hours of working dogs and we just kept rotating them sometimes we’d work a dog for two minutes sometimes 2 / 5 minutes but I don’t feel we ever worked a dog for over 6 to 7 minutes in one session and at the end of the twelfth day or what the two dogs who came to every clinic is amazing to see the difference and the handler and the dog because of the fact that a lot of times the person can’t see the end result of what they’re going to have and so this sometimes are lost they’re just trying to find the end without knowing looks like and for me I always feel that a clinician is only as good as you can explain to the trainer or the person they’re to be taught and some of the people I deal with want to be trainers some of them are trainers clinicians we’re gonna call them but they still have a hard time taking that next step with their training and for me I still learn every time I get a chance off I can find somebody to learn from or I think I can I’ll go learn but whenever you get the people that they come in with one goal in mind for the end and then they don’t want to do that Egizi to get there or they don’t know what agency is and when you try to tell them sometimes they want to hurry to get to Z and they miss it and for me when I’m watching someone in her dog if I see their dog is I call it checked out they’re not there and we’re not transition I always try to stop the trainer as a handler to get them to quit and we’ll put the dog up and we’ll talk for a while let your dog think about it and let the trainer the handler think about it because in fact that they can see me do something or another handler or trainer or clinician and they can’t get to that point because of the fact that they let time get in the way and like I said started this video that’s the biggest thing with training is time and you can get more out of minutes than you can out of hours so thanks a lot all right so we’re going to talk about training dogs I get people constantly tells
