the goldador is a cross of a purebred golden retriever and a purebred labrador retriever also known as the golden retriever lab mix the experimentation of these hybrid designer dogs has not been recognized by the american kennel club or canadian kennel club the golden retriever in lab mix is a large athletic dog that will do best living in a house with a big backyard in this video i will show some great information about the goldador let’s start history though the accepted wisdom surrounding the goldador is that it was first created in the past decade the reality is that this hybrid has been around for a lot longer it’s just that it was never marketed or deliberately bred as a designer dog until relatively recently gold had also become highly sought after by the emergency services in search and rescue and sniffer rolls in particular as they have a very keen nose and are extremely attuned to their handlers appearance the goldador is a large athletic dog it measures 54 to 60 centimeters tall at the top of the withers males can be quite a bit bulkier than females and weigh between 30 and 38 kilograms with females tipping the scales at 27 to 32 kilograms the code is also quite predictable as they have the short dense coat of the labrador sometimes with slightly longer wavy hair along the back the head is broad with a defined stop and a strong muscle and the ears are medium in size wide at the base and hang flat to the head personality and temperament the goldador is affectionate and loyal alert enough to make an excellent watchdog but too friendly to be an effective guard dog he loves children and gets along with other animals especially when he’s been raised with them he’s playful and fun and he always does things with a cheeky canine smile on his face he craves human companionship and he likes to think of himself as more than just a family pet training and exercise the goldador is one of the easiest breeds to train her his intelligence and need to please make him a joy when it’s time to go over obedience and basic trait training the goldador will need at least 60 minutes of intense exercise every day the goldador has an intelligent brain and as such you need to vary his exercise routine he’ll quickly become bored of daily walks what is the goldidor’s life expectancy the average life expectancy is about 10 to 12 years based on the average lifespan of the parent breeds being born from two large and bouncy breeds the goldador makes a good pet for active families who will have plenty of time to play with their four-legged friend the goldadore’s feeding these dogs are generally healthy by nature you’ll need to ensure they have a healthy lifestyle for them to stay that way the first step of this process is making sure their nutrition is up to standard the goldador is an active dog and will require kibble made from high grade ingredients the best choice is protein rich dry foods with a small percentage of fillers fortified with healthy fats and vitamins goldadore health the goldador is a healthy dog but some minor concerns may include hip and elbow joint arthritis and eye issues make sure the parents of your puppy were tested by the orthopedic foundation for animals for hip and elbow dysplasia is the goldador dog right for you goldadors are good family dogs and generally do well with children of all ages goldadors usually get along well with other dogs and pets especially when they’re raised with them or socialized to them at an early age if i missed any information let me know in the comments please like and subscribe to our channel for more videos thanks
