Golden Retriever Puppy E-Collar Obedience Trained as a Calm Family Dog
ah good boy
good good no drop drop no have it no
dropp no no
: oh well II know every it sit sit sit
down a bit off ah
good morning
good morning
so here’s the scoop Abbott has massive
car anxiety he does like a lot of pacing
and stuff even gets a little drooly so
before I took him on his little
adventure I didn’t actually feed him
breakfast
but he’ll eat that when we go home we
just wanted to do a little work in the
park first so not feeding a breakfast
when a dog is nauseous in the car is a
good idea because you’re proactively
preventing lots of vomit that the dog
typically will puke up and then eat
again
so that’s hot everybody loves that right
so do yourself a favor if you get a dog
who has motion sickness just work in
their in their best interest I’ll be
feeding them before they get into the
car you can also give them you know a
little pill pocket with benadryl about a
half hour before you take your little
adventure which is a little something
that we did together before I put him in
the car and took him to the park so when
I was opening the door that was a big
trigger for him to dart out and act a
fool and he tried to like run across
this lovely parking lot which is pretty
fun so thankfully he’s on remote collar
called him back got him get in and out
of the car and prior to that he was
having an issue jumping into the car cuz
he’s just anxious and fearful of the car
in general you can tell he’s doing a lot
of like looking around and panting and
stuff like that he’s not very
comfortable so what I’m doing is I’m
flooding him with the experience of like
you need to go in the car when I tell
you to you can exit from the car only
when I tell you to and when you’re in
the car you got to chill out or at least
do your best to hold it down so that
there’s not a lot of pacing and a lot of
working yourself up for no reason
send you home I’m holding his leash here
and there’s a car parking once they’re
parked I’ll be able to do a little
release here okay good good boy okay
let’s go yes nope yep
let’s go so a little pressure on his
prong and he’s decided he doesn’t want
to do it someone had to put more
pressure so okay good boy so we’re gonna
do it again we’re gonna keep doing it
until he’s chill okay good boy have it
come up yes let’s go good boy good dog
and down good good dog
okay so he’s still really leery of the
door good good dog so if I were to take
the pressure of the prong off he
wouldn’t have any motivation to pull
through and to follow my lead and follow
my suggestion about getting into the car
in command but with repetition and
consistency he’ll do that on a regular
basis where you won’t necessarily have
to have prong pressure but if you take
the pressure off when the dog freaks out
that’s when the dog will have like a
real bratty kind of meltdown because
then they know that they can really pull
one over on you and get what they want
and you know revel in their fear as
opposed to having a push through it so
okay this is a really hard exercise for
him to understand
yes yes yes good that was no pressure on
the prong I’m just lifting up the leash
go ahead good dog
nicely done buddy those are really hard
exercise for him now we’re gonna go take
a walk which is look thanks for watching
everybody
right yeah good dog
oh it’s such a big deal for dude okay
come back you have to eat green beans
now
yeah yes good
so you’re gonna say no now oh yes good
good job calm down a bit please dad go
ahead and link guitar Killeen wait ed
please wait
