Great Dane Adoption Interview 8-17-11
well 46 dogs were taken out of a Greene
County home many of them just like siren
right here a Great Dane and now is your
chance to give some of them a new life
and boy let me tell you they’ve earned
it
joining me this morning is Mike yogi
with the Greene County Humane Society
and boy has the Greene County Humane
Society truly earned its name being
humane taking care of all of these dogs
you took in that many dogs but then
there were also puppies born right
correct there was mid-june we we ended
up with puppies from two of the dogs to
increase that total number to about 63
yeah let’s go back a little bit we have
video this was back in May one of our
reporters we sent to go cover the story
out in Greene County and all these women
had this home and it was just crammed
full of dogs many of them large 46 of
them in total and our reporter said that
he got within 20 feet and he said he
could barely breathe it was just the
stench was overwhelming so we have siren
today and you can take her out of this
situation you could give her a wonderful
home tell me about beautiful gentle
giant siren well we still have about
half of those dogs in our care and 19 of
them currently are available for
adoption and she she is very she’s can
be quite exuberant if you will they’re
really kind of friendly you know they
can be quite a lot lap dog almost though
giggling in the story before this she
tried to actually get into Mike’s lap it
was just very sweet but again she this
is a big commitment when you get a dog
and sirens one of the small ones so one
of those things that you need to
consider a dog this size and and again
they’re not going to be they’re not
going to be a dog that’s gonna you know
use the small cat bed no but you know
what though they don’t have to go
running for miles and miles and miles
either she’s actually leaning against me
bless her heart and she we were two
outside after we got here this morning
got that that show dog gate to her and
actually this is kind of a Oh
the show dog pose right here kind of
lean in for that for that adoration how
old is she and does she get along with
other dogs she gets along with most
other dogs she is four years old and
when they come out of a group dog
situation like that there’s all there’s
always some you know consideration – you
know – that if you you know as to how
they how they get along with others and
she’s just very friendly she is very
ready to go loving home we should also
mention it costs the Greene County
Humane Society at least $10 they took
care for all of these animals and this
is just a beautiful dog she’s absolutely
adorable very very friendly give her a
new life give her a new start because
you could see she’s ready to go look at
this she’s ready to go you can you can
give her oh I’m sorry I didn’t mean to
stop petting you she can you can give
her the life that she just really hasn’t
had for the last couple of years so if
you’d like more information they also
have a section on their website
completely dedicated to all of the Great
Danes that are available for adoption
