How to Make Dog Agility Jumps for Practice – Build your Own Equipment – Siberian Husky
since Shelby needs more practice with
agility we’re also making some jumps
today this is what you guys are going to
need we went to Home Depot and got just
what they had at our Home Depot there’s
a few pieces that I would have rather
had other pieces of but we’re going to
make this work you need to 10-foot PVC
pipes one-inch diameter 2 PVC crosses
which are these right here you need two
of those you need six caps which these
are the caps you need two PVC tees which
these are the tees and what these are
going to do we’re going to turn these
into jump cups and then you need to
three-quarter inch PVC elbows and the
reason we need these is because
technically we needed a tee that I had a
pipe that came out of the top but our
home depot didn’t have any so if you can
instead get a tee with a pipe coming out
of the top you won’t need this because
actually we have to use this and put it
in here and make a pole come out the top
we’re going to make it work though we’re
going to show you guys how to make some
PVC jump jump to make the jump cups what
we need to do is we need to cut these
into two little clips
Janey’s cutting them right now and when
he’s all done I’ll show you what the
clips look like now the first cut Jamie
made into this piece was across the back
here and that makes it so that we can
clip this on to the actual PVC pipe now
it’s going to cut it across right there
now this is a jump cup and what this is
going to do when we get all the jump put
together this is going to clip onto here
and the bar the jump bar that goes
across will sit in here that way if your
dog hits the bar and knocks it down
they’re not going to get hurt the bar
will fall instead of jamming them in the
leg or something crazy these go at
specific Heights depending on the height
of your dog and I just feel the need to
show that Shelby is asleep Shiloh is
asleep and Oakley heard me talking and
decided to wake up all the other dogs
are sleep
now this is just a reminder we are not
building these jumps to standards we
were just building them for practice
jumps just because Shelby needs to
practice but so we’re getting away with
only using two ten foot 10 foot PVC
poles what we did is the first 10 foot
pole we cut these are going to be the
two side poles and there are 36 inches
each and then these are going to be our
feet for the base like you see on the
weave poles over there and these are one
foot each so if you add all that
together you get 10 feet and then we’re
going to take our next pole section of
10 feet pole and we’re going to cut it
into three sections of 40 inches each
and these are going to be our crossbars
that’s what we’re going to do right now
now these are the pieces that I was
telling you if you guys can get one that
has one coming out here here and at the
top it’d be a little bit better than
what we ended up having to do but if you
had this circle coming off the top yep
but we’re about the same we didn’t want
to have to wait so we bought this and
elevation and that will make it able to
come on top yep make it come on yeah so
that’s our side pole then the feet will
go on that also so we’ll put together
our two side poles absolutely take cat
cat from one end
no can’t be I can’t other side and we
got one leg one leg okay I got putting
it together second leg one two caps for
the top yeah the top what’s now that’s a
leg yep other caps you need one cap on
each top that’s why you need six he’s
kneecaps on the top you need caps on the
feet so now we got two legs now these
are the bars that are going to grow
across the top because we had to modify
this a little bit this one of these bars
is actually going to have to get cut and
it’ll be a little bit shorter than the
rest but like I said they’re just for
practice so it should work out just fine
so we ended up having to cut off four or
five inches or so of that bottom base
piece and that’s going to help keep the
jump stable six inches by six inches and
you will notice like I said because we
had to buy this other piece here if you
notice this tending to like turn and it
does turn kind of easily which can be a
good thing for storage if you don’t want
it to turn you can always run a screw
through there or go ahead and use the
PVC glue and glue it together take off
what we did just there is we actually
measured out the height this is 26
inches 24 inches 22 inches 20 inches 18
16 just so we have our height
measurements because depending on if I
start doing agility trials with Miss
Shelby
it will depend on which ones we go to
which height she actually has to jump at
there’s the jump now all we need is
colored tape to finish it I think that
she’ll be here
can we meet
oh you cheater good yeah Jeff Joey’s
chubby the Wiis me again
jamika we meet we leave leave her and of
course I was watching or not the camera
yeah okay
okay
Oh Joe Joe can we go in we cooker
Oh
on two
Oh
