J-Lo, the lab heads to Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show
Westminster Kennel Club dog show is kind
of a Superbowl of canine competition it
happens next week in New York City yeah
if you can make it there Molly you can
make it anywhere and we’ve got a
Colorado canine in the show hoping to
make it JLo is a black lab from Longmont
I went up there today caught up with JLo
and owner Susan Rose as they get ready
to take the Big Apple by storm we’re
just a little you know a little local
you know small town girls go into the
Big Apple Susan Rose runs the Whispering
Pines dog resort in Longmont and she’s
had JLo since JLo was born she’s just
been a pleasure when when she was just a
tiny little puppy we knew she would be a
superstar just just her attitude her
zest for life for the things that she
that she likes to do and she just does
everything at a hundred and ten percent
so she’s not a diva she’s not a princess
we call it a wash and we’re breed yeah
we don’t have all the coat that some of
those dogs write our months and months
of preparation right this dog takes
about five minutes yeah so you’re not
gonna you don’t need to do all the
pampering and a blow-drying and getting
the hair up and you just go JLo is just
a down-home good-natured country dog
that likes to run free and go swimming
but when Showtime comes she can turn it
on it’s kind of like you’re the
conductor and this is your orchestra so
she just adjusts to whatever is that
we’re doing her whole focuses to stay in
line it would be awesome to come from
Longmont Colorado take JLo up there and
win something wouldn’t it that’s our
goal
we’re gonna go for the brass ring we
neither one of us really know how to do
anything any other
