Huntington Beach California for the
Western Regional Championships of the
Purina Pro Plan incredible dog challenge
big crowd on hand here on the beautiful
coastline and we are all dialed in with
the events earlier on with the agility
competitions and incredible diving dog
and now it is time for the Jack Russell
rural racing competition and this is
going to be a fun one heat number one
three heats title the top to advance
Bernie five Seaview miles of smiles
stache kimberlite clicks promise leg
echo and then up Shiraz is it are all in
this one so six jacks chillin the top
two will advance to the final this race
anything can happen it usually does
they’re out of the gate and a clear
leader a lot of times they get caught up
there but that was a clear one although
I couldn’t see the color of like look
like a green of Shiraz possibly they’re
very good so we’ll wait to hear
green up Shiraz is on our winner here we
go taking a look yes clearly through is
the leader all the way around every
instant replay there’s a man the next
one coming through is yellow so in the
yellow with stanch
oh if that is correct
no ball 1 & 2 followed right there
advancing to our final Heat six Jack’s
three jumps and that padded tunnel the
tunnel is padded because a lot of times
if they do end up there down there all
together they want to make sure none of
the dogs get hurt that’s also why all
the dogs are wearing muzzles is to make
sure they don’t fight over the lure
which is what they’re chasing during
this race and getting them to go into
that tunnel

check it on exactly who the official
word the camera perspective the slow
down a little bit behind the scenes and
make sure we have the correct top to
this case as Jolene mentioned it looked
to us like Shiraz and green and stache
and yellow where the top two three total
heats in this Jack Russell hurdle race
top two will advance six total will make
the final out of the three heats we
recognize that little girl that would be
my daughter and she is in seventh heaven
up there getting to help in this race
and that’s the lure that they show to
all the dogs which gets them to jump out
of that starting gate it race to the
other end so lots of fun for her and her
little cousin the other blondie you see
there to her left we came out a little
bit early to enjoy all the sights of
California before the event
they love the dogs just like everybody
else does so lots of fun trading off
those collars now to the next six dogs
that are going to be racing in seconds
heat here today and Jeff Russell racing
and once they get put into the start
gate they know it’s excited to see you
will Riley hey bug rustling rubber
rubber love with a gypsy snowman and
they’re off out in the front do this is
going to be a tight one going into the
tunnel the blue got through there
I think the CBO Riley so Steve you
busted through there with everyone else
getting all caught up that’s the way
this is so fun because you just never
know what’s going to happen in the lead
dog kind of went off to the side it did
actually go through so who made it
through first our green
does that qualify getting through all
the way through so great and then
they’re not sure what’s happening so
there’s the blue looks like so PD so
PDMS see you at the moment we’ll get the
official word but at the moment it looks
like PD number one and CPU to regardless
it is top two that will advance so cute
so I guess we’re going to check and see
from our camera angles if one dog gotten
away they were heated another dog anyway
in that finish so what the judges watch
the replays and make a decision
oh what’s that wow he’s like blocky I
don’t know there’s a tactic for yet oh
well then Lou I think what foxtail was
over on that side go inside
– chaos of crystal racing you just never
know what is going to happen again
they’re all just focused on newer but
because of that and because the dog was
cutting over and across it sounds like
this might be a redo trees yeah they’re
going to rerun this one so that’s a
little bit of a technical maybe air with
the foxtail whatever it might be
regardless you’ve got to have it nice
and fair but come back to heat – they’ll
do it rerun but right now we’ll move on
to heat three in the meantime kimberlite
Buster Brown is in that one Toby and
promised land scribbles Mockingbird Oh
long name Mockingbird Hills Wilson and
then Finn will be the six that will race
in heat three then we’ll come back to
give them a little bit of a break before
they have to redo that round

we are here with our food to my file for
all so excited ready to go for it he’s
been taking a turn on getting the dogs
all excited about what they’re going
after in this race and they’re off and a
clean leader in the red and then it
mixed up
and once again it looks like green and
went through first I believe even though
Toby in the red was outer in the front
he got inside to not make it through the
tunnel that’s where the pool is
I was going through a tunnel is come on
it actually wins take a look at that
close-up inside camera to make sure
we’re know who those top two world

all right here we go taking a look
coming up to the tunnel
see that goes so green going through
followed by blue it looks like red was
in the lead and then boy ended up coming
in almost last getting off to the side
of the tunnel so I believe it was great
Finn and Green followed by kimberlite
Buster Brown and blue we’ll make sure to
get that vitalizing with the judges or
take a look right here is that’s nothing
Oh pink well I am completely off the
pink squeeze in first then red all right
I’m lost
let’s make sure let’s get a KPI I
thought green went in but you know they
all squeak by so we’ll wait to get
completely judges name on that
four top two that will be advancing
after the jacks fetch it 30 we’ve after
that freestyle flying disc
okay what’s green I wasn’t crazy green
and then blue yes indeed those are the
first two been through the tunnel so
Finn and kimberlite Buster Brown would
be our ones advantage so we’re moving
back now to the same dogs that we saw
run in heat two because of kind of the
blocking that we almost saw going on
there with that one Jack Russell near
the end so a redo of heat two is coming

jet all right folks so we are going to
rerun Heat number two sizable
difficulties there so we’re coming back
with Keith – we’ve already settled one
and three stache made it through the
final Shiraz was thin and should be like
Buster Brown so we have four in two to
settle and loading them up now once
again you’ll see Seaview mo Shobana
gypsy snowman and PD alright hopefully
we have audio bad for our
we do of our second round and a clear
winner

like where did it go our leader stopped
and turned around backwards so let’s see
what happened here was clearly out in
front
Myrtle here turn back around Turpin
around trying to find out what’s going
on I did see the same dog that got some
problems before so I believe that we are
going to have a disqualification for
snowman who was in the orange collar and
they’re going to rerun it again he’s the
same dog that kind of blocked the other
dogs the first time we did this after
the third hurdle as well so snowman an
orange color getting a disqualification
from the event and I believe that’s the
first time this has ever happened it’s
almost like he’s turning around and
warding off the other dogs from making
it to the tunnel

all right loading up to the finals and
Jax
all right so we’re ready for the finals
just loaded up takes a little bit of
time to regroup and get the jacks back
down to the start house
julene who advance from that second
round actually I think they’re doing
another review another redo of yeah heap
– yes it would be the third review of
heap – unfortunately because snowman in
the orange collar on both of those
fronts impeded the other dogs all right
you know now that we have our viewers
back with us as far as able to hear the
audio heat one which we already
completed stash and Shiraz made it
through they were the top two then heat
two ran but they did a redo
then we ran heat three kimberlite and
fin made it through to the final however
after we reran heat to the second time
we’re also now going to go a third for
them okay but it doesn’t really matter
and now it’ll just be five dogs
competing they’re not going to have
snowman run again disqualified top to
advance we’ve settled four so two more
to advance to the final round of the
jacks thanks again to all the viewers

so I guess all right I’ve never seen a
dog
I don’t think disqualified in particular
I’m not for this it’s literally like
swimming I was trying to block other
dogs heading to the tub
on the first ride be like I also kept
some downstream areas left he actually
turned around after that last jump to
ward off sick dogs
so hopefully the dogs have had a little
breath here like right they’ve got the
dogs and they’re gonna come back for a
third attempt at the second coming want
to make sure everything’s fair here we
go
pretty soon make your way back down to
the start and run after Jack Russells
will get underway with our fetch up
competition back over to the pool and
then 30 we’ve up and back will begin
after that so back to the field and then
we’ll clear the equipment for 30 we’ve
up and back and get set for our final
event today freestyle flying discs top
dogs from this event will get the invite
to the national championship finals this
will be held in st. Louis this fall
breezy out here to LA rain came through
earlier at the beginning of the event
not much more not much rain but still
breezy out here making it challenging
for out you know really the diving dogs
and the not really the fetch it because
that’s an isolated bumper that will be
there but
the challenging for some of the diving
dogs with the headwind and then
freestyle flying discs coming up chalene
and that’s going to be difficult for
them just to get it you know the discs
right
the placement of the discs not to
mention that we are still overcast the
Sun breaking through at nine o’clock did
not have any more an hour past that so
the free point flying disc competitors
might be dealing with not only the wind
but also the discs blending in with the
sky so a lot of the competitors then
taking marker and draw X’s and lines on
the desk so the dogs can see them and
distinguish them from the clouds so
we’ll have to see
as we approach seven events a little
closer but looks like a third take on
our second date ready to go see um OSHA
Bono gypsy snowman PD something got
through there at the last
a week and I think that was our green
collar and I’m not sure if we have them
all the same dogs as our rundown says
because you’ve switched the so many time
so I’m thinking that in green and we
have a loose dog up in the arena right
now that did not make it through the
tunnel looking around trying to find a
different way out all right let’s take a
look at the replay and see who’s coming
through the tunnel and the number one in
two spots so this is green I believe
that is PD followed by see you little
Riley in blue and that is in our first
attempt at the second heat those are who
came in one and two and that first race
as well so the same finish from the
first time we ran this PD and Seaview
will Riley going through stands so it’s
not just luck no I guess not
they were the fastest dogs
even after having to run in three times
in a row all right so we’ll wait to get
the line up then the colors and the
callers for our Championship final

so a lot going on this was you know Jack
Russells is never disappoint it’s always
a little chaos and a little something
new and we definitely saw that here
today waiting to find out who is the
fastest Jack if you’re not real familiar
with Jack Russells even though they may
all look the same to a lot of people
they are different they have three
different coats that they can have a
broken is smooth and a rough and they
are also classified as over dogs and
underdogs depending on how high they
measure at the withers
so differentiations in the breed of
course all of them though bred for
hunting foxes and chasing permit down
into holes that’s why this event works
is it’s almost natural instincts and
their prey drive to go after
more and chase it into the tunnel
all right get the final set thanks for
your patience this is the normal thing
when you’re doing a live event this is
it’s cool to watch the live stream and
have you guys join us but these are
typically how events unfold when then
you realize how much gets cut out
exactly so we are now getting the
rundown so give us one moment

for this final round up Shiraz in red
and Riley will be in the yellow collar
PD and pink Buster Brown and orange and
Finn will be rocking the green collar so
we’ll see who becomes our Western
regional champion shortly in our
incredible Jack Russell hurdle racing
competition one shot to get to the
national championship finals so you can
get it done here continues to be windy
off the coastline of Huntington Beach
the waterfront Beach Resort right down
the road has been very accommodating to
us on our tight crew so shout out to

fetch a competition than 30 we’ve up and
back we will get underway with the
Freestyle flying disc competition all

with the green music in the beaches
in Huntington Beach they are

looks like a tough job today at least I
was looking out on the old and found
them right Finn and Greene had the lead
and then boiled without last hurdle up
Shiraz and red just bolted out and
broken front
I believe got through the tunnel first
that’s who we’re looking at right now so
we get back to the replay take a look at
that yes it was up Shiraz
coming in first here in our Western
regionals followed by Finn in green one
and to Gaza and Buster Brown looked like
came through third place in the orange
color so congrats to all three of them
