welcome back to the ultimate dog
championship the show where we put two
dog breeds up against each other to Duke
it out for the crown of the best dog
breed as always today’s contest is for
over five rounds the dog who wins the
most rounds wins the contest the first
round is temperament second intelligence
and trainability third health and life
expectancy fourth protection and
guarding skills and the fifth and final
round is the dog’s appearance so get
your scorecards ready is at the end of
the video I want to know how you guys
scored the contest and compare those
scores to my own if you’re new around
here don’t forget to Like and subscribe
but without further ado let’s get into
today’s contest both dogs are very
evenly matched with a Labrador just
taking a very slight weight advantage
they are both making their UDC debut so
about further ado let’s get straight
into round 1
Labradors are famous for their easygoing
yet playful and intelligent natures
typically displaying a temperament is
equally at home in the field in the show
ring in the home environment or as an
assistance dog rarely displaying any
aggression this ease of nature makes
them unsurpassable not only as pets but
also as assistants some working dogs
they thrive in a home environment where
they receive plenty of attention
training exercise and mental stimulation
golden retrievers have consistently
remained one of the most popular choices
of pets here in the UK and the world
over for many years and for good reason
these dogs boast wonderfully calm
nature’s which paired to their
intelligence and trainability make them
the perfect choices family pets they
boast loyal and affectionate nature’s
where there are working dogs or family
pets thanks to their loyal and
trustworthy personalities this may have
been the hardest round of all the UDC
rounds to judge so far but seeing as I
have to choose a winner I’m gonna have
to go the Labrador simply for the reason
the most popular breed in the world for
a reason and the temperament clearly
plays a huge part in that Labrador
retrievers are renowned for their kind
and willing natures which in short means
they are relatively easy to train which
is why they are such a popular choice of
working gun dog they excel at many
canine sports and this includes
obedience competitions there are
renowned guide dogs as well as hearing
dogs with the added bonus being that
laboratory was genuine enjoy taking part
in this type of activity labs would love
to please they thrive on being praised
and because they boast having such a
high food drive using high value rewards
makes their training a breeze golden
retrievers are extremely intelligent dog
which paired to the fact that they’re
always eager and
keen to please makes them ultra easy to
train and is one of the reasons why
Golden’s excel it so many things
including fieldwork when correctly
handled and train these dogs that excel
at many different disciplines and
they’re frequently used as assistant
dogs for the disabled another extremely
close around there but due to the wider
variety of jobs that labs are useful and
how commonly they’re chosen over
Golden’s for those different jobs the
lab also takes this round by another
very narrow margin the average life
expectancy of a Labrador is 12 years
Labradors are prone to inherit in
several forms of AI disorder as well as
hip dysplasia elbow dysplasia central
nuclear myopathy and exercise induce
collapse the average life expectancy of
a golden retriever is 12 years the
health disorder the breed is prone to
suffering is just hip and elbow
dysplasia the golden retriever easily
takes it round with having much fewer
health issues than the Labrador
Labradors are not the best choice when
it comes to being a watchdog because
they’re so people-friendly a lab would
bark however if they feel their homes or
families are being threatened in any way
a golden retriever would always tell
their owners when strangers are about
but thanks to their kind and friendly
nature’s they really are not the best
watchdogs both dogs make fairly useless
guard dogs and it’s very hard to choose
which one is actually worse most people
have the Labrador and the golden
retriever is number one and two on the
top worst guard dogs in the world
however again seen as I’m gonna have to
choose I’m gonna go with the Labrador
purely because they’re slightly better
known for barking which might just scare
somebody off Labrador males grow 56 to
61 centimeters weighing 29 to 36 kilos
and females 56 to 61 centimeters 25 to
32 kilos they are strongly built medium
to large sized dog that is broad and
deep through the chest and ribs they
possess strong and compact webbed feet
which are perfect for the ours Labrador
retrievers generally enjoy spending in
water and marshlands their coats are fit
dense and extremely water-resistant
perfect for environments that they were
bred to work in and boast otter like
tails golden retriever males grow 56 to
61 centimeters weighing 29 to 34 kilos
females 51 to 56 centimeters weighing 25
to 29 kilos golden retrievers are well
balanced powerful looking dogs that
boast an intelligent and ultra kind
expression their heads are well
proportioned in relation to their bodies
they have strong muscles which are deep
and wide with a black
their eyes are deep set and dark brown
in color with black rims and they are
set well apart there is a medium in size
which dog hold level to their eyes
giving them the kind and intelligent
expression the breed is so well known
for
as always round five is super subjective
for my personal for so that although I
have a Labrador I actually think the
Golden Retriever is a better looking dog
and is going to win the fifth and final
round so in their UDC debut the Labrador
Retriever takes a narrow 3-2 victory I
hope you enjoyed the video guys if you
did make sure you click that like button
and subscribe if you’re new around here
let me know how you justify it in the
comment section below and do you agree
with my score of three to two the
Labrador don’t forget who you’d like to

ultimate dog championships but thank you

for another episode of the canine show
