celebrating the three hundred and

Ripper
so there we have Jack this one being a
scores into the center of the Ring by
Professor Steve Dean chairman of the
Kennel Club

Show he considers it the number one
judging appointment in the world so
[Music]
group winners in the order that they
were qualified for this final event from
the working group the rob fire send here
to the final by Judge Frank Kane
[Applause]
the winner of the password group holds
on Thursday judge best of the group by
Valerie Foss it’s worth saying is
all-aware the winner of the terrier
group
it’s lovely wire-haired fox terrier
judged in the group on Friday by Gerald
Morris
[Applause]
also touched on Friday night club by at
Michael quitting the half group he his
absolute giant winner the Hound group
also on Friday
Michael quinny’s twice there the Irish
Wolfhound
it was an absolutely incredible day here
yesterday across 2014 the winner from
the utility group judged by Kenneth
Sinclair the standard poodle the
spectacular standard poodle Romney
utility group the second group judged on
Friday by Ken Sinclair
it was pulled to the rafters all day
long here yesterday in the arena at
Crosse 2014 our second of the group
winners from yesterday judge by Renee’s
father Willis the winner from the toy
group but pomeranian so we have seen the
Giants with the winner of the toy group
this tiny little Pomeranian sent here by
Ronnie store Willis
[Applause]
and so there’s a long way for that
little thing 2014 we know what this one
is because it’s just being judged by
penny Williams
but Gondo group whereas the American
cocker spaniel nothing more to say on
that listen it’s wonderful American
cocker spaniel sent here by penny
Williams from today’s big group the gun
dog big and that’s what they’re here to
win so pedal Memorial Trophy Dutch jack
has jumped here at crafts just a
possible group it’s also beaten to judge
the working group now our group judges
are leaving the ring we get down to the
business of judging those final seven
finalists for Best in Show from
Lancashire n-double task of choosing the
Best in Show at the world’s greatest dog
show the atmosphere here just tremendous
a full house to see this final judging
the culmination of four days of
exquisite dog show
and first up we have the Rottweiler that
came of course from the working group
judged by our Co comment commentator
Frank Cain you’ll join us in a minute
this is Brandon three years old owned by
Robert and Donna Taylor who also bred
the dog they come from Wakefield in West
Yorkshire top male 4 2013 and indeed
Frank joins us now and there goes his
working group winner I think this is a
splendid lineup how do you think he’s
looking Frank beautiful breed type and a
great movement I was very pleased what I
saw downstairs their Rottweiler Brandon
from the working group totally without
exaggeration correct beautiful head
correct body proportions and great coat
and a fantastic moves next for Jack piss
form to look at this Sam is from the
pastoral group this is Dan the man
you’ve judged this one as well haven’t
you Frank here’s my Best in Show win the
last December he’s a great dog
and again another lovely move us full of
retype beautiful head and dark
pigmentation and expression beautifully
made lovely animal owned by Val freer
and Sue Smith Val comes from Litchfield
and staff Jisoo from up well in
Cambridgeshire what a proud moment for
them and it’s being handling the ring by
Sue Dan the man gave us a look there
that was just basically you can carry on
struggling like that all day
smiling Sonny
they all do then they say most wonderful
expression they have accentuated of
course by that lovely dark pigment on
the crisp white coat beautiful condition
this table and the outline held on the
move that’s always a sign of good
construction and balance no Sammy has
ever won Best in Show here at Crufts
neither has a Rottweiler and that
expressions so characteristic of the
breed delightful now from the terrier
group judged on Friday this is the Wire
Fox Terrier two and a half year old King
owned by Ronnie and Denny Munter bred by
Warren bred by them as well how and by
what handled by Warren Bradley in the
ring they’ve come from Belgium to
compete but the dog lives here doesn’t
it yes he lives in World War II who was
handling as a professional handler from
Wales he’s got the dog in great
condition this is a dog which is boozers
class beautiful head marvelous clean
neck and shoulder that crisp wiry body
coated just exemplary for the breed in
the prejudging he defeated last year’s
runner-up for top dog and that was a
rings Pat deep to watch this yes
fabulous dog actually it’s interesting
for me in that the very first crops that
I attended 1978 was won by a Wire Fox
Terrier because that’d be an omen the
position of the front movement lovely
they don’t have the far reach of some of
the other breeds but it’s correct
they’re narrowing the chest they don’t
have the same forward reach but absolute
precision wonderful hindquarters driving
him along there that cleanness of neck
into shoulder short back tail of banging
top and some quarters behind the tail
that’s part of the power of the dog they
always say with Fox Terriers done there
should be a lot of dog behind the tail
absolutely right coming towards us look
at that gorgeous head at the moment he’s
king of the Ring
then from the Hound group the Irish
Wolfhound this absolute giant the
tallest of all breeds
James is his name he’s three years old
comes from Belgium Chung called Rast
owned by Johnson Snell ins Gary that is
and Sandra from bollocks and the most
fantastic size and substance these dogs
are the real Giants of the Hound group
but nonetheless what we were so
impressed by with this particular dog
was his sound as his free-flowing
movement for such a big animal and light
footed light footed for his size and
substance incredibly graceful his well
could it be his year the last time an
Irish Wolfhound took best-in-show here
at Crufts was 1960 this is a breed that
should be you know flag wire coated
that’s protective striding out well not
quite as sparkling as was in the Hound
group the other night and you know
performances can alter from night to
night extension in the front that lovely
tightly heads such a nice-looking dog
now this is the tip of the top I think
the standard poodle both a UK and
American champion Ricky is two and a
half years old now owned by Jason Lyn
John and Sandra stoner of course bred by
Michael Brad’s being Jason Lynn who have
two contenders in this final seven
tonight wasn’t achievement that is quite
remarkable and we’re looking here at a
very particular clip it’s like an
exaggeration of what was a working clip
once upon a time because cause poodles
were water dogs they needed the coat to
protect them and to make them buoyant
but they also needed shorter coat
particularly on the hindquarters so that
they could swim yes it’s not just a
fancy hairdo it was a functional clip
buoyancy from the mane
over the front end and the pom-poms
guard the hawk some damage and the
Johnson damaged and protect the end of
the tail you want me to run I need to
get my muscle sorted out first now if
you want carriage and style this dog
hasn’t any puppets Woodley action they
call it don’t they
he’s short back and long neck arrogant
and elegant in this couch you know it’s
ex-facta he’s got the great ring
presence which says defy me if you dare
judge you can’t ignore me showing
magnificent he really is on top form and
so far we’ve had five dogs and this is
the sixth dog no bitches yet this is the
Pomeranian Colin what a lovely name for
a lovely dog two and a half years old
came from Warsaw in Poland to take part
in this Rosina Bukovsky and cheap art I
can’t say this Rushka I think is the
second and is the hyphenated part of the
name there this is the smallest of the
Spitz breed spit speeds that we’ve got
wedge-shaped head sharp small ears tail
set high and carried over the back and
that’s harsh
outer coat it should be fine boned and
dainty but have good substance under the
coat and above all this dog has great
presence great presence completely
unfazed and full of confidence I always
say they should look this one’s an
orange and he looks like a little Jaffa
on legs he’s One himself the most
magnificent fan club er well as well I’m
sure Colin is not remotely aware that
Twitter and Facebook have gone berserk
with Colin fans and why not he’s quite
gorgeous isn’t he and it is a long way
around this ring but he’s going enough
to trot round it
salùte briskness instruct great carriage
and unbeaten trainee era and the
registered name immaculate front
movement here you could look at the
precision in that and those little Hawks
driving him along chooses a button a
Pomeranian
call in the palm all the way from Poland
and taking the big ring by storm
not a really polish name is its quality
now here’s our girl power in the ring
tonight this is the American cocker
spaniel show champion after globe pearls
a singer two years old top gundog in the
UK last year owned by Susan crumby and
Jason Lin bred by Mike Gatsby and Jason
Lynn handled by Susan in the ring
tonight topped of a good entry from all
over Europe and under Dale Vincent the
breed judge and of course she’s known
for his top gundog in the United Kingdom
last year now of course you’re a breed
specialist for the American cocker
spaniel what should we be looking for
here here we’ll want to go you know the
top line of the American cocker is
sloping it should slope with a high set
head a lovely plush muscle big nose
there and that domed skull and large
dark eyes she’s full of brie type but
also she has showmanship and style on
the move now interestingly the afterglow
kenneled with the group the poodle here
and the American cocker they’ve been
best reserved best in short crafts on
two previous occasions can they go one
better and take the prize tonight so
there’s only two shots this is the only
bitch in the lineup this one while she’s
put in a great performance especially
considering she’s come straight from the
gun dog kennel still there is yes yes
they got a nice run on the beach these
dogs got seriously mucky you know you
wonder how they get them into this
wonderful condition for the show what a
lineup jumpers from having his walk down
licked again he’s looked at the rocky
again taking another look Terry looks
fantastic that outline is gorgeous
tiptoes of expectation as the breach of
Dean and this no words nearly as big as
Jack isn’t it the Irish Wolfhound
here’s Jason with
the standard poodle and then the tiny
little Pomeranian fluffy right has
conveyed and today’s favorite of course
with the crowd it’s a big gun dog crowd
here today now I think perhaps he’s
going to look at them up and down on the
move again before he makes his final
decision when you judge this a couple
years ago Frank sit did you know at this
point or did you wait right till the end
well I was felt by this time I was
fairly sure of my Best in Show winner I
didn’t know who the reserve wasn’t but
you know this is when you have that
extra last look to decide those placings
so there goes Brandon you must be proud
of your group when a friend I’m very
happy he looks really well he’s lovely
example of the breed comes from
Wakefield in West Yorkshire and a
wonderful temperament handsome strong
and the balanced outline of that
gorgeous some words this is Dan the man
and of course Jack our judges is
covering the pastoral group he and his
wife Jill greet Fred Shetland Sheepdogs
for many years so he’ll be a specialist
in these pasture of Reeves yes he liked
the shell t-zone the rough Collies the
names
those are his breeds
and the little fox theory here the wired
fox terrier yeah when I first came to
cross it was the first interview I did
this with a winner for a Fox Terrier
nirav is rebuilding beautifully I
planted this on from the start actually
we looked magnificent tonight and
temperament absolutely beautiful really
composed and going well two young
daughters and only two and a half years
old the owners live in Belgium he lives
here beautifully handled
so our hound group winner will devour
this ring in a very short number of
cases the Irish Wolfhound James all the
way from Belgium an unexpected
unexpected lengthening of their stay for
tonight yes have to cancel their ticket
home neatly folded Bucky is lovely dense
coat on top Noble magnificent
spectacular beautiful
first and the poodles have been
successful here at Crufts the last time
we had a winner 2002 and to hear such
cheers from an essentially a large
gundog crowd tremendous wonderful ring
presence the dog has
[Applause]
and a little pom : still very much on
duty not remotely intimidated by the
bigger boys does he know he’s the
smallest dog in the files absolutely no
I dogs never do they think they’re giant
no idea of their size all personality
and from the gundog group tonight we get
another chance to look at the
spectacular movement of this American
cocker spaniel she’s such a beautiful
bitch
what a great breeders achievement to get
to group winners in a Crufts final I
don’t think that’s ever been done before
we weren’t sure whether it had been –
it’s certainly a total rarity fantastic
achievement
[Applause]
Jack this one knows he’s made his
decision he’s called for the board’s
here they come the wonderful cat of
Memorial Trophy being brought out there
which goes to the Best in Show and the
Kennel Club Cup which goes to the
reserve if the pom wins it it’s smaller
than the trophy this is a big moment for
them last walk down the line tense
moments here wonderful moment for Jack
this from I think he’s got a great line
up there he’s got some good dogs aren’t
they good and haven’t they all shown
well it’s the poodle he’s going for it
it’s the standard poodle
[Applause]
Brown’s top dog of the year and scruff
just showing it to a lot of fantastic
achievement for this family to have to
in the final and take best ensure at
plus with a dog who has surely done just
about everything that it’s possible to
do in the show ring isn’t over yet is it
possible that the same actually own as
well no it’s not going to be this way no
the pastoral group the Sally Hansen the
sub-objects reserve Best in Show well
with such a spectacular lineup there’s a
marvelous result sporting handler the
first thing she thinks to do is to go
and congratulate the winner
well that is marvelous
well done jack
and we now have the presentation party
coming into the ring the presenter will
be mr. Lieb and SIL the global head
vice-president communications for pet
care health and grooming for Eukanuba
mr. Li bandsaw escorted by Professor
Steve Dean chairman of the Kennel Club
and there is also Russell Taylor vice
president of corporate marketing for
Samsung the UK our principal sponsors
and with Joel King the escort well this
is just a splendid moment for Jason Lyn
and for Mike Gadsby who will be
absolutely thrilled their partnership
has read some wonderful animals too in
the final lineup one of them takes
handled him in the ring and my word
didn’t he do himself proud I couldn’t
have asked anything more the gave an
absolutely beautiful performance and I
was so proud of him and this is his last
ever show in the UK that’s right he’s
now retired in the UK he was top dog all
breeds last year and we decided that
this would be his last show and he’s
ended it in the most wonderful way
possible and the great thing about Ricky
is he knows when he’s on show and when
to perform and he knows when it’s
chill-out time and he’s decided he’s had
enough
that is his trophy I’m going to say
quick well done to sue as well because
sue is only a small breeder down the
man’s done a brilliant job and you
looked in shock when you were named
reserve champion it’s an amazing feeling
I mean I can’t describe what the
feelings like because I mean well you’re
at Croft listen you’ve done a great job
many congratulations to Dan the man and
to our crafts champion for 2014 Ricky
the standard poodle
[Applause]
[Music]
