– Not so long ago I made a video
about top 10 underrated dog breeds.
This time we will look at the opposite.
I will show you top 10 most
popular dog breeds in the world.
(upbeat piano music)
(dog barking)
Number 10, boxer.
These dogs might look tough,
but they are extremely playful,
energetic, and friendly.
On the other hand, it is fearless dog
that will protect their
family no matter what.
It’s definitely one of the
top tier family guard dog.
Fun fact is that the world record
for dog’s longest tongue
is held by boxer dog.
Number nine, dachshund.
Small dog with big personality,
they’re hunters on the first place.
They were bred to hunt and they still
have it in their blood.
It’s independent dog and they bond
very closely to one person.
That’s why they’re more one person dog
than family companions.
Number eight, Chihuahua.
Smallest dog in the world but
don’t be fooled by their size.
Chihuahuas are very
protective and sometimes,
especially when they are
not trained and socialized,
they are very aggressive.
My opinion is that it’s
because a lot of people think
that they don’t need to
socialize and train small dog
like Chihuahua because they
are just too easy to handle.
You can just take them,
put them to another place.
But, they are still dogs.
Even though they are very
small, they are still dogs.
And they definitely should be socialized.
Number seven, bulldog.
One of the best dogs for lazy people.
They are very independent,
they are good at learning new commands,
but they will do it only when
they’re in the mood for it.
You will have to be very
patient when training a bulldog.
But, it’s true that they are great,
loving and loyal family dogs.
Number six, beagle.
Did you know that
beagles were much smaller
back in the day?
They were called pocket
beagles and hunters actually
could put them into pocket
when they went hunting.
They have great sense of smell
and they are driven by it.
They love exploring the
world with their nose.
This is very curious dog breed
and pretty noisy as well.
They bark quite a lot.
Number five, poodle.
They are one of the three
most intelligent dogs in the world.
They have hypoallergenic coat
and they have three
different size varieties.
No wonder it’s one of the
most popular dog in the world.
And most of the nowadays
crossbreeds are house poodle.
Labradoodle, Goldendoodle,
Cavapoo, Pekapoo,
all half poodles.
Poodles are pretty energetic, playful,
and easily trainable dogs.
Number four, Yorkshire terrier.
The only terrier on this list is Yorki.
I don’t know how about you,
but I see Yorkis everywhere.
They are super popular.
They are very alert and protective
but also playful and very
affectionate towards their people.
They are not the easiest dog to train,
but no terrier can be marked
as super easy to train dogs,
but Yorkis are definitely trainable.
And you can achieve a lot with them
if you are a patient
and consistent trainer.
Number three, golden retriever.
One of the friendliest dogs of all.
golden retriever will do
anything for their people.
They bred for them,
well for the people, and for the food.
But, this is why they are very bad guards.
They are just too
friendly towards everyone.
And golden retrievers are
actually very energetic dogs.
So, daily long walks or any
other daily activity is a must.
Number two, German shepard.
Strong, brave, loyal.
These are the best three
qualities of German shepard.
And the reason why they
are the first choice
for police and military forces,
all around the world.
You have these very intelligent
and easily trainable,
on top of that.
They are also very tough,
versatile, adaptable,
protective, and independent dogs.
Number one, Labrador retriever.
Of course, what other breed
could be in the first place?
They’re incredibly loyal and friendly.
Intelligent, eager to
please, affectionate.
They are just perfect as companion dogs.
But it’s not the only
thing they were used for.
They were bred as
retrieving dogs by hunters.
They are great swimmers,
they are used as guide dogs,
search and rescue dogs, therapy dogs,
they are just everywhere.
And it’s mostly because
of their trainability
and for their love to people.
Interesting fact about Labs is,
that they have webbed feet.
Which, makes them excellent swimmers.
