the Cardigan Welsh Corgi and the
Pembroke Welsh Corgi were originally
considered to be two different varieties
of one single breed but in 1935 they
became classified as two separate and
distinct brees one of the distinct
differences between the Cardigan Welsh
Corgi and the Pembroke is the size shape
and placement of the ears the Cardigan
Welsh Corgis ears are set at a slight
angle to the skull and are further apart
and more rounded at the tips than the
Pembroke’s ears another difference in
the two breeds is the shape of the
forearms the cardigans forearms are
slightly curved and the Pember Oaks are
straighter in structure the cardigans
feet are therefore more turned out than
the Pembroke’s the cardigan is also
somewhat larger in body than the
Pembroke the most distinguishing
characteristic in identifying a
difference in the cardigan and Pembroke
Welsh Corgis can be seen in the tail the
Cardigan Welsh Corgi has a tail the
Pembroke Welsh Corgi does not
