What Service Dog Training REALLY looks like!

hello everyone um I’m here hand calvess
here to see uh-huh my room is a mess
right now I don’t know if I’m gonna show
probably not because I was even over see
this walls blank we’re moving and yeah
it’s not it’s just not clean right now
every goods remember and I’m trying to
pack everything up um but I want to do a
training video with Calvin I don’t want
to put on YouTube but I don’t know if
I’ll be able to because recently I just
been recording videos we’re just not
Eddie and I’m not putting them up even
though I really want to put another
video of him just I don’t know something
I just don’t hit in a video I’m good at
eggs River um so um I’m gonna try to do
one though I am really excited for my
new vest that I’m currently getting so
I’m getting new vests it is a rubber
ducky err vest it is ice blue and silver
binding and I am so excited you guys
asked the pockets and I had her put
velcro in and said patches because I
don’t want patches I want to buy my own
patches and then put them on there but I
am so excited you guys like so excited
um so yeah so I’m gonna go outside with
Kelvin and we’re going to do some
training it is kind of darker side
because it’s like eat or something right
now but hopefully I’ll stay
ok I have to like get out there Parrish
man ok so you guys will notice that I am
NOT carrying treats I do not carry
treats anymore Kelvin so when I’m
teaching them something I use treats but
I don’t like to use treats as rewards
because Calvin is really smart and if
I’m using treats treats as rewards so I
do clora training and if he does
something wrong then so he will
purposely do something wrong so I have
to lure him back to doing something
and essentially he gets more treats and
that’s he’s just smart so I used toys
because he’s way more motivated with
toys so I had socks and I tied them
together like perfect type toy here so
it’s our tech training he thinks it’s
amazing so yeah we’re gonna go do some
tree

Kevin’s excited so we’re gonna so I not
having them here right now because we
are going to go take a potty break leave

that’s his ball he really wants his ball
so we have to go past his ball and go
take a potty break so the Sun is going
down so sorry if it’s poor lighting good

going somewhere he he’ll go potty pretty
quick but when we’re in our like hey
goes normally he wouldn’t over here he
likes to play and so I’ve got potty

potty he wanted to play so I actually
likes to training with Calvin when he is
hyper and excited because he was better
normally he does good no he’s tired and
played with too but he does amazing when
he is still hyper he’s like so yeah he’s
having a little bit of a hard time
dropping it so I might have to like take
him tell him to drop it quite a few
times cause he is having a weird thing
where he won’t drop it right now but I’m
guessing that’s just because I don’t
know just just because I haven’t done
dropping in a long time cuz you normally
heat we just play ball on you drops any
my son yeah we’re gonna do stay Calvin

so the camera is about today and I’m
hoping I can get through this without
the camera dying so yeah do some
off-leash he’ll count me out Oh shake it

because you know he’s distracted huh

Sereno service dogs are not perfect they
are never perfect pretty much you know
he’s doing good but you know he’s
distracted he’s in he’s solely not he’s
still learning good boy now he’s
alerting he’s a learning which is good
and he gives a toy for that good job and
he gets a treat because he was just
alerting but he’s not always perfect
because that’s not yeah they’re just not
perfect this is the normal here he’ll
he’s got you know loose leash he’s still
healing he’s healing really well be numb
off leash outside is his pretty hard for
a dog right because no no that’s so
weird thing so I know he’s still working
on it he doesn’t he’s not supposed to be
off leash like working and so I don’t
really have a big problem with it but
you know he’s still learning I’ll drop
the leash and you know he just he does
but he knows when he’s awfully so huh
good boy way so you know he still does
really good but you know sometimes he’ll
he doesn’t listen perfectly

didn’t Rupp’s me and yeah if he didn’t
jump on me I probably wouldn’t listen to
him you know you want it you won’t
listen to dogs so yeah so I’m gonna head
back home and we’re gonna do some pick
up like dropped items tasks thing we’re
gonna well yeah I call it task yeah I
don’t like I do need it from Calvin
sometimes but don’t need from all the
time and I am getting a prospect soon
once I get that honey I have like twenty
dollars right now but it’s not enough
for a puppy but I do want to get a
prospect pop you want to be a poodle or
a poodle mix I want to be bigger than
Calvin at least 60 pounds or so because
I want to do mobility and Calvin Calvin
is but I am taller and bigger and I
don’t want to like hurt my dog so I’m
doing light mobility with him right now
but I’m not gonna do it for very long
because I still want to hurt him you
know all right we’re gonna try this
because I haven’t done it in a long time
