Will Your Dog Protect You on a Walk?
we love our pets and we’re pretty sure our pets love us but have you ever wondered how your dog would react if you were attacked will they come to your defense or just wimp out we put four dogs to the test will your dog protect you if you’re ever attacked on a walk look what happened to this husband and wife out for a stroll with their dog in Dallas when suddenly they’re ambushed at gunpoint their dog doesn’t know what to do she never attacks or bites anyone and later goes back and lays down next to her terrified owners we wanted to see how some dogs would respond if an assailant confronts their master Judi Barret has total confidence her dog Darcy won’t wimp out there’s no doubt in my mind that she would protect me assisting us in our experiment is Mike de Bru’s up a professional dog training instructor at dog training world net and suiting up is Nate the dog man Bonilla a professional protection dog trainer Judy is on a walk with Darcy at the Paladin tactical training center in Carmel New York when suddenly our robber jumps out unfortunately all Darcy seems to want to do is play oh there goes Judy’s purse I really thought she was gonna protect me protect RC was not gonna protect anything okay but what if you have a German Shepherd I’ll breed used by police to chase down bad guys the cop takes him down will Gracie’s instincts kick in when it counts her owner is Dan Ortiz I don’t want any trouble buddy at first Gracie looks a little indecisive but when the robber rips the bag away buta bet Gracie gets aggressive and darts after him she’s a German Shepherd if he sees someone running away some of her genetics popped in and if you let her go she would have likely chased after Nate and probably would have bitten him in this is Zoe she sure looks intimidating Zoe’s a Rottweiler she’s almost four years old and she’s my shadow Rottweilers can make great guard so will Zoe sink her jaws into the attacker good girl good girl Zoe actually did pretty good out there she was definitely confused which is typical of a dog that was never exposed to something like this but she showed no fear I was impressed they think she did a good job she didn’t bark as much as I thought she was going to but she definitely stayed right there by my side last up this mixed breed named dragon slayer sounds menacing I don’t think she’d let anyone get me and Dragon Slayer comes through in the pitch good girl dragon good girl thanks to dragon slayer he doesn’t get away with joy rains back I did see her taking some shots at me as a woman it feels really good to know that I have a dog that I’ll actually step up and protect me out of all the dogs I saw there I think dragon showed the most potential while Darcy showed no signs of aggression at all do you agree yeah I agree 100% these experts say although we may love our furry friends you can’t always rely on them you need formal training to see what your dog will really do and to make your dog more predictable in those situations [Music] you [Music]
