Your first dachshund tips. Nutmeg and Mace.
morning my name is Matt and these nutmeg
yes hi yes this is nice I want to go
over a couple things with you regarding
wiener dogs okay first of all I made the
mistake of buying a dog without doing
the research and for that my first dog
was a little bit of an a-hole he would
run up to big dogs think he’s the it’s
called small dog syndrome it’s like
little people with big chip on their
shoulder anyway well any rate so first
way to get rid of small dog syndrome is
when you have a puppy under six months
okay find somebody with big dogs that
don’t mind little dogs for one but
obviously they need to be roughhouse I
know yes hi yes they may be roughhouse
it’s a bit so what I mean by that is
they need to not feel pain but they need
to realize that they’re small they need
to be stepped on they need to be
wrestled with basically so they realize
as older they’re not going to run up to
a German Shepherd a rottweil a pit
Rottweiler a pit bull and just think oh
I can beat that guys but the second
thing is they’re they’re notoriously
known to be yappers right right
they’re yappers they see new people they
bark they are great home alarm systems
however you don’t want them to be always
anxious and angry at new people that
come into your house so the main thing
to do is when they’re puppies take them
for walks in public parks obviously not
right now the cove at 19 but run into
people and as soon as somebody says oh
what a cute dog what a cute dog musica
girl
so give them the dog let them handle the
dog
everybody knew one after the other one
new person new person new person new
person new person that way so when you
have people come over to your house your
dogs not gonna sit there and bark at
them for hours they’re not gonna be
afraid to approach that person they’ll
go up and they’ll be friendly right away
I didn’t do that with my first dog
pepper
this is nutmeg that’s mace and I have
another one that I gave to my friend
cayenne and she’s a little bit of e
upper but that’s the first dog I started
with the whole introducing them to a big
dog park and two people and once I
learned that smooth sailing
I mean nutmeg here I know nothing she
actually didn’t even start barking until
she was about six months old and this
guy mister guy doesn’t show up on camera
very well he barks and he actually
introduced her to bark no licks no licks
no licks anyway
no licking either don’t let them lick
your face otherwise they’ll lick
everybody’s face don’t let them jump up
right how could you say no to that face
right anyway those are a couple tips
other than that I can’t stress this
enough don’t overfeed your dog don’t
overfeed your dog treats like hurt her
body she’s not law she’s no she’s a girl
you don’t want them to hurt their back
I got miniatures cuz I didn’t want a
full standard because they end up with
back issues even if you’re good with
them their whole life but as far as as
these dogs go hey yeah you guys are good
dogs
they need to be able to finish whatever
you feed them in one sitting a lot of
people just leave people there their dog
food bowls full and if some dogs they
can handle it they’ll eat one just when
they’re hungry however I found that
after a couple years there are points
where they just start eating and eating
and eating and you gotta just give them
I give them a couple meals a day I give
them a half a cup each in the morning
maybe three quarters or half a cup at
night and that’s basically it so those
are the the basis for having a good
temperament dog obviously they all have
different personalities I love the fact
that they all the different
personalities they all love to cuddle
they all love to go into the blankets
but stick to those two things and you’re
gonna have such an easier life with your
dogs and if you want to post any
pictures in the comments that would be
great also I’m looking to breed these
two I’ve been trying for a while but
he’s too short she’s too tall have your
pet spayed or neutered but it doesn’t
matter with these two it hasn’t worked
for the last three years so have a good
